Dragon Boat Festival

July 2026

We can't believe it's been almost a year since the last festival. This year was extra special, because we started an all abilities dragon boat team*. Our team persevered through 7 am practice, canceled practices, and air quality alerts! The weather was wild this summer.

We also created a t-shirt bar (a live printing station where you can customize your shirt). All the guests were so patient while waiting for their orders.

Thank you Ohana Paddling Association and the Town of North Hempstead for including us yet again.

Thank you to everyone who cheered for us and visited our t-shirt bar. Community support is invaluable. Y'all are the best.

* Why dragon boat racing?
Part of our mission is to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities. It’s very hard to raise awareness without inclusion and presence. Team sports are a great and organic way to include our Blue Ravens (members). This team was focused on both competition and community.

Sending Love to Our Seniors

February 2026

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with the lovely residents of a local nursing home. It truly made our day to see them sing and dance along to our performances. It really is about the life left in your years - not the years left in your life.

As part of the Valentine’s Day celebration, we made gifts for our senior friends. Thanks to our Blue Ravens, we surpassed our initial goal of 60 gift bags. We were able to give 75 gift bags. Each senior received a personalized tee, a handmade bracelet, and a hand-drawn or virtually submitted card.

We are grateful for everyone’s efforts in making this day so special.

Dragon Boat Festival

October 2025

The skies were clear and it felt like summer was making a comeback. Dragon boats were racing through the water while lions danced on stage. There were delicious foods and cool drinks to be had. Despite all there was to see and do, our Blue Ravens showed up and showed out. They manned the booth and passed out flyers. Some bagged orders while others told passersby about who we are. We are so proud of their focus and hard work.

Thank you, Ohana Paddling Association and Councilwoman Christine Liu, for including us in Long Island's first dragon boat festival.

Thank you to everyone who supported our mission by volunteering their time or making a purchase. You make it possible for us to continue our work.
